I used AnTuTu benchmark (with 3d) and Geekbench. If you run the benchmark and get like 50-60% of the score you're supposed to get, I would safely say it's a fake. Fakes will have the real processor model hard coded in there.
In the settings -> about phone the processor is sometimes listed there. Fakes have their own OS developed by whoever made the fake.
